Biography:

 
Professor MF Yuen received his medical degree in 1992 and obtained his MD in 2001 and PhD in 2005. He is now the Chair Professor of The University of Hong Kong and Endowed Professor of the Li Shu Fan Medical Foundation in Hong Kong. He is also the Chief of the Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology and Assistant Dean of the Li Ka Shing Faculty of Medicine at the University of Hong Kong, as well as Deputy Chief of Service in the Department of Medicine at Queen Mary Hospital in Hong Kong. Professor Yuen’s main interests include the prevention, natural history, molecular virology and treatment of hepatitis B and C, as well as the treatment of hepatocellular carcinoma. He has already published more than 300 research papers internationally. With these outstanding research outputs, he is listed as top 1% scientists according to Web of Science with H index of 55 according to Scopus.
 
Professor Yuen is the recipient of numerous prestigious awards including the Sir Patrick Manson Gold Medal from the University of Hong Kong in 2005, JGH emerging leader lectureship by JGH foundation in 2006, and young scientist award from association of southeast Asian institutions of higher learning in 2008. He is an invited speaker at many international events.
