Biography:

 
Dr. Stephen Leong, MB, BCH, BAO, LRCS & PI, is an Associate Professor in the Division of Medical Oncology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine. He currently is the Deputy Director, Phase I Program; Deputy Director of the Protocol Review and Monitoring System; Director of Oncology Teaching Service and Associate Program Director of the GI Malignancies Fellowship Program.  
 
Dr. Leong received his medical degree from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland, and a Masters degree in Medical Science (Physiology) from the University College Dublin. He completed his US residency at Albert Einstein Medical Center in Philadelphia and his medical oncology fellowship at the University of Colorado. He then joined faculty at the University of Colorado SOM in 2007.
 
Dr. Leong is a member of the Developmental Therapeutics and Gastro-Intestinal Malignancies Programs. His areas of interest are investigating novel agents and their potential use in GI malignancies. Clinically, Dr. Leong is a principal investigator or co-investigator of several Phase I and GI clinical trials. Presently, he is on the editorial board for ASCO Connections and is a member of the NCCN Esophageal and Gastric Cancers Advisory Panel.
